This post has been a few months coming. In fact, I’ve been slacking off bigtime blogwise, let’s see if I can get things back on track!
This is a fire safety campaign that I worked on last year. I’ve been meaning to put it up for a while actually, but then again, better late than never.
Faced with the challenge of developping this concept, our team realised how tired we all were of the normal approach these types of campaigns have. The whole “here let me shove a picture of a burnt persons face in front of you” had, in our opinions, overstayed its welcome and we wanted to develop a different approach. Without joking about the seriousness of fire safety, we decided we wanted to take on a more friendly and caricatural approach. We then created characters (a family) that would be put in high risk fire situations where they had gotten burned, displaying the action, or lackthereof, and result.
The point of this campaign was to get noticed, to remind people about fire safety, and heck, why not make them smile at the same time.
